While visiting a historical cave site, I discovered a giant door equipped with a set of strange unlocking mechanisms! The team leaders and I have some hypotheses as to how to unlock it, but we’re still unsure as to what may lie beyond. Pretty exciting, wouldn’t you say?
Let’s explore this relic from the past as we ponder our own heritages! I have a feeling we’ll learn much more about this particular location over the coming months as we seek to solve these mysteries together. 12/1: Welcome to the Season of Heritage!
Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time to Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
After witnessing the power Hoopa Unbound was able to unleash during the Season of Mischief, Professor Willow has become intrigued by what other mysterious powers may be lying dormant in the world. His research brings him to a historical cave site, where he stumbles upon a large door bearing a set of strange unlocking mechanisms. How does it open? What lies beyond? Your research this Season will see you collaborating with both Professor Willow and the team leaders to help uncover this historic site’s mysteries.
12/5: Swinub Incense Day
Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time
Professor Willow recruits Blanche to help investigate the mysterious door’s mechanisms. After some analysis of the faded symbols adorning the door, Blanche determines that the first of the door’s mechanisms requires Stardust and the help of Ice- and Ground-type Pokémon to activate.
In order to continue their research on the door, Professor Willow and Blanche begin to modify Incense to specifically attract Ice- and Ground-type Pokémon like Swinub for a short period of time.
Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time
After gathering enough Stardust and the right Pokémon, the first part of the mysterious door’s mechanism is successfully activated.
Some minor quaking occurs within the cave as a result, sending various Pokémon streaming out—including Druddigon, a Pokémon never before seen in Pokémon GO! Professor Willow realizes that many of the Pokémon that have appeared are also often found in the Unova region’s Dragonspiral Tower, and he quickly sets to work conducting some research.

After the first door mechanism activated and Pokémon like Druddigon emerged, Blanche and Professor Willow decide to take a break and celebrate with a gift exchange with the other team leaders!
Gears of the second locking mechanism are turning, and it’s now...open!
Spark, Blanche, Candela, and Professor Willow are even closer to finding out what lies behind this door!
1/19: Power Plant Event
From Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time until Monday, January 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time
Spark’s intuition leads him to believe that the final mechanism of the door requires Electric-type Pokémon to power it. Work with Spark to catch Pokémon as he makes progress toward unlocking the final mechanism of the mysterious door located at the historical cave site. In this event inspired by the power plants found in the Kanto and Kalos regions, you’ll be able to catch Pokémon like Magnemite, Voltorb, and Helioptile!
In the shadows, it seems that a nefarious force has also caught wind of the door and the power that lies beyond it…
From Monday, January 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time
Just as Spark has obtained enough Electric-type Pokémon, he’s hit with another flash of intuition that something bad is coming. His suspicions are confirmed after he finds a crumpled piece of paper detailing some of Team GO Rocket’s plans for a take-over! He notifies Professor Willow and the team leaders, and they quickly rush out to take on the villains!
As they continue to deal with Team GO Rocket, Spark can’t help but feel that there’s more to this take-over than meets the eye...
Professor Willow and the team have returned to the mysterious door only to find it unlocked! What’s worse is that the area behind this mysterious door is…empty?
All that remained was a crumpled-up piece of paper and a mysterious component indicating that this was all Team GO Rocket’s doing...
Team GO Rocket’s invasion was all a distraction! While Professor Willow and the team leaders were busy dealing with the takeover, Team GO Rocket swooped in with their own Electric-type Pokémon to force open the mysterious door!
But Professor Willow noticed something off to the side of the chamber. Could it be—a Poké Ball?
Upon closer inspection, what seemed to be a strange Poké Ball was in fact a Hisuian Voltorb!
Hisuian Voltorb bear a striking resemblance to old-fashioned Poké Balls developed long ago in the Hisui region, but just what kind of Pokémon are they? What sort of place was the Hisui region, the land we now know as Sinnoh? And are these bygone Pokémon appearing because of Team GO Rocket, or is there some Mythical Time Travel at play?
